SA6 and SA12
Guitar players familiar with our Godin electric guitars will recognize the new Seagull SA6 and SA12. Godin has been an industry leader in semi-acoustic guitar design and the SA6 and SA12 are the first semi-acoustic models under the Seagull brand.
There are actually two design concepts at work here. The first concept is a guitar that feels like an electric and sounds like an acoustic. The feel comes from the necks, which in the case of both guitars are slim and strung with electric guitar strings. This combination makes these guitars exceptionally easy to play, especially by acoustic guitar standards. The other design concept is that of ‘stage guitar’. This is the other area where these guitars excel. The two-chamber body design serves to minimize feedback and resist the effect that stage noise
your band mateshas on your guitar. Acoustic guitars often sound great during a solo sound check only to disappear in the mix once the rest of the band joins in. This isn’t necessarily a volume problem. In fact, it is often caused by the sound of the rest of the band leaking into your guitar and causing it to vibrate out of phase, in other words it cancels itself out. The two-chamber design resists this tendency and puts great sound within easy reach at every gig.

New Graphtech bridge pins
One of the easiest do-it-yourself methods to soup up your acoustic guitar is to fit it with a high-density nut, saddle and bridge pins. For years the material of choice has been ivory, however, elephants hate this idea, and frankly, so do we. Several years ago the guys at Graphtech came up with a man-made ivory that they call Tusq. We have been using Tusq nuts and saddles for a couple of years with excellent results. This year we’re pleased to announce that we are installing Tusq bridge pins to all of the Artist Series guitars.

Seagull at NAMM
We have had a fantastic response to the new Seagull models featuring the Compound-Curve (CC) design. The CC design has given us huge gains in sound and stability. Seagulls were also acknowledged at the show in the form of an award from MMR magazine. U.S. music dealers responding to a recent survey in the magazine voted Seagull: “Acoustic Guitar Line of the Year” MMR editor Don Johnson presented Robert Godin with the award at the show. We’re thrilled with the award. However, we’re not about to rest on our laurels just because we got a trophy. So with that in mind here are the new 2004 Seagulls.

Return of the Artist Folk
When the new Seagull line-up first appeared at www.seagullguitars.com we received numerous comments from guitarists upset about the apparent demise of the Artist Folk. The Folk wasn’t discontinued, but there were delays in setting up the jigs for the new design in the Folk-style body. That project is complete and the Artist Folk is available with the CC top, and sounding better than ever!

S6 Folk CW
We are smitten with the new cutaway Folk. This guitar looks so cool that when it first arrived for testing, everyone here declared it an excellent guitar
before we played a note! Fortunately it sounds as good as it looks. This will make a great guitar for fingerstyle players, folk musicians and anyone who finds a standard dreadnaught to be too cumbersome,or guitar playerslike usthat just can’t resist an extremely cool looking guitar. We highly recommend the Folk with the Godin QI eletronics installed.
